small victories

Made it through giving an impromptu artists' talk at tonight's opening without passing out. ;)

I took this snap with my phone's camera. I'll have to come back and take some more with the real camera.

sorting old photos on my laptop

I just found this photo that I took while working on a piece for last year's Ofrenda show. There isn't time for that one this year, since I've got another show coming up in December that I'm still catching up on. (!)

This isn't a great photo--I had just snapped it with my phone camera to help me decide on where to place all those little objects you see on the shelf before permanently gluing them down.

(no that's not real fire; just flickering LED "candles".)

After a couple of hours (and a lot of waiting/sketching/coffee)...

All done. I'm not sure about titles yet...sometimes that's not clear until much later.

(The background bit isn't part of the painting; it's just the worktable.)
